Mortgage Loan Processor

POSITION
Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for assembling and preparing loan files for underwriting through communication with Mortgage Advisors and borrowers.
Additional responsibilities include ordering all outside documentation needed for underwriting and closing and the processing of a mortgage loan from beginning to funding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Receive files from Mortgage Advisors and open loans within 24 hours of receipt, except where there is a File Opener available.
Communicate with borrowers and Mortgage Advisors on progress of files and any issues that need to be addressed.
Knowledge on reading and understanding appraisals, titles and credit reports; Running and reading DU.
Basic business math to calculate income, assets, taxes and monthly insurance.
Understand Stonegate Mortgage rules regulations, policies and/or procedures along with investor guidelines.
Stay current on the industry, market trends, competitive position, Stonegate policies, etc.
Strive to achieve and exceed productivity expectations and standards.
Ability to 'pre-underwrite' the file assuming what conditions will be needed prior to the file being underwritten by the underwriter.
Effectively and accurately process FHA mortgage files if assigned to the FHA Team.
Assist in orienting and training Mortgage Advisors as needed.
Perform all other duties as requested or assigned.

Ability to perform tasks and complete projects with minimal supervision.
Represent Stonegate Mortgage Corporation in a professional manner by dressing professionally daily while in the office or when attending events.

EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or
Experience:
4-5 years of direct Mortgage Loan Processing experience is required.
NMLS Licensing may be required.
Mortgage industry and/or Financial Services experience is a plus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
